What Happens After I Pay My Dues to ADHA?

In an effort to better assist you during membership renewal or application, we have put together the following timeline for membership processing. As ADHA recently completed an entire system conversion, we have reevaluated and streamlined many membership processes in an effort to better serve your needs.

Renewals

If you are renewing your membership and submit your check or credit card payment in the envelope provided, your renewal will follow this path:

  • Your payment first goes to ADHA's lockbox at the bank for secure processing.
  • Your renewal notice comes from the bank to ADHA's central office (this takes one to three business days).
  • Renewals are then entered into ADHA's database by staff on a first come, first served basis. During peak times, this can take up to two weeks.
  • Membership information is then sent weekly to the company who creates your membership card. The card company generally needs four to six business days to create the card, and then mails it to your address.
Your membership card should arrive within four weeks of ADHA receiving full payment.

*Please note that sending payment to ADHA's central office instead of using the provided envelope will delay processing.

New Members

The process is similar for new members of ADHA. Instead of sending your check or credit card payment to ADHA's lockbox at the bank, you should send your application and payment directly to ADHA. The processing time is the same as for renewals, and new members also should receive their membership card as well as a new member packet within four weeks of application and payment.

Please note that the processing time is substantially delayed for incomplete applications. Some examples:

  • Incomplete payment
  • Incomplete required information (address, license #, name, etc.)
  • Nonpayment of constituent or component dues

Quarterly Payment Plan

This is the same for renewals or new members; however, only your first check or credit card payment is applied when you send your renewal or application (one quarter of total dues plus a $10 service charge). Your next three payments are applied in the months of January, April, July, or October, as stated on your application / renewal notice.

Your membership card should arrive within four weeks of ADHA receiving payment.

If at any time after submitting your renewal or application and before receiving your membership card you require proof of membership to attend a function or to apply for member benefits, you may call the Division of Member Services at 800/243-2342, ext. 1. A letter of membership verification can be mailed or faxed to you.

On-Line Membership Renewal

Membership renewal is easier than ever with ADHA's new on-line renewal form at www.adha.org. To take advantage of this new feature, members simply visit the website and enter their membership id number, found on membership cards and Access label, name and credit card information including number, expiration date and name as it appears on the card. Members participating in ADHA's payment plan may also utilize this new service.

Please note: ADHA accepts MasterCard and Visa.
